Guys - I apologize, I was not aware that this has been already discussed extensively.
The truth of the matter is that our organization needs funds. The ideal way to get funds is for every member to understand the value of IV and contribute. That will take its own course.
In addition to that i think we should look at events as they happen that affect our community and use those to rally our members and get additional help from them - time, resources and money and we have done that in the past and have succeeded. When our bills passed in the senate and we needed money to lobby the house, a call was made and people did contribute.I think constructive feelings of hope, happiness and success do encourage people.
If things happen as folks expect and a lot of IV members do get their GC in the next 2 months, i think this would be an event to target and request members to contribute to IV.
So fine with me if this has already been discussed, Can we promote this and track it. Would it be too much to add a second thread that talks about contributions to IV when i look at 5 threads at the top of the list that all track LUD's :)

There is no such thing as duplicate EAD. Everytime the EAD is lost, USCIS issues a new EAD with new dates of approval and expiry i.e. they treat it as renwal. If you are not using EAD, don't bother to apply for one. It costs around $300+(i am not sure on this) and needs to be renewed every year.

Can you please tell me what is "Letter of Acquirement’'
My company is Acquired too, the New Employer just gave me a Letter Copy
explaining the Merger, NO Official docs were shared with me.
From whom did u get this letter.
No need of new H1 if company 'B's' HR has agreed to continue with 'A''s employees.
1. Get a EVL letter from company 'B'. (This is assuming name of 'A' will change to 'B' or new name.
2. You need to get a "Letter of Acquirement" from HR of new company (I am assuming that the name of the company is changing as well). If name does not change then you should be fine. If you have to travel out of US, you need to carry latest copy of EVL(of new company) and "Letter of Acquirement" along with you. (I went thru these few years back, PwCC bought over by IBM, immediately after the takeover I travelled out of US and came back without any problems(on H1)) this was quite a while back though, you may want to check with your company attorney though.
Note:

But I think it's thanks to CBN who pulled the consulate to Hyd when they were debating to have the consulate in Hyd or Bangalore. From what I know YSR govt just boomed up the realty prices but nothing else, though realty went up in other parts of the country too.
PS: I'm not very sure but just expressed my thoughts as we are talking about consulate/Hyd/how proud we should be etc in this thread.For those who know better or disagree with me please feel free to do so by posting in the thread but not by giving red/accompanying mssgs. These days I'm so cautious that unless absolutely sure I don't take any chances with posting on threads so as to avoid upsetting people even remotely. Really, they even had some local band play along with the fireworks... and you know, what, dude, that was the very first, no kidding.., thatwas the very first music-synchronized fireworks... you know, like the 4th of July stuff, but just, more cooler and stuff, you know. for my 8th Year extension I applied on 16th Nov.2007
and got approval notice on 28th Nov.2007 with 1 Yr extension.
Actually based on December bulletin my attorney asked for 3 yrs. but got 1 yr. as in Nov my PD is current.
Off-course on 30th my I485 is approved.
So there is no doubt your attorney is so wrong.......

I have a similar question. I used AP and my I 94 will expire soon. How do you renew validity of I94. I do have a valid H1 till 2010. My EAD expired but I did not renew it as I don't intend to use it. AP also has to be renewed.
Please advise if I-94 has to be renewed or am I good as my H1 is valid.

We invited our in-laws last September and it was not easy for them to get the visa in the first interview. They got denied with the reason 214(b) without verifying any Indian documents. Infact, my father-in-law was a government servant and he was still employed at the time of interview. My wife was on EAD and I was on H1-B and I was inviting my in-laws to USA.
We then asked a letter from the senate's office requesting the visa officer to issue them visa and explained that they have strong ties with family members back in India and have bank balance and property. It was surprise that nothing was asked in the second interview and they could get a 10 years multiple entry visa. This time my wife invited her parents.
In all this, we wasted time, money and were very tensed since my wife's due date was approaching and it was only a month far.

I'd like to know if any of you invited your parents while on AOS. Last time I invited my in-laws I had H1-B et al....now we are on AOS and my wife is sponsoring her parents. We are on AOS. I do not have a job currently so I can't get an EVL and my wife has and she is inviting and the I-134 is also from her...we have EADs valid till late 2010....she had her F1 valid till Oct 2009 but she is working on dependent EAD.
So do you think there could be any potential problem.....Last time I had sponsored my in-laws but they were questioned a lot at the embassy....so now my wife will be sponsoring ...I hope there are no potential problems.
Path 2 USA do not mention anything special for EADs/AOS et al....

You may have ....I did not. The so called software professionals have no other avenue than coming through the bodyshops. Infy, TCS and Wippro are no different than other desi bodyshops. Its the difference between a nice hair cutting saloon and a road side one. Infy, TCS are nice hair cutting saloon.
Its not a question about feeling the pinch. Its about the validity of credentials. Most of underskilled people get undue advantage by working at these bodyshops.

As per my company if you do not carry AP and your green card is approved and you enter using H1 you will invalidate your green card.

I have been working for my current employer from last 4 years.I have good relations with my employer.I have 140 approved and my 485 is pending for more than 180 days.Now I want to join any new employer using my EAD.But I don't want to invoke AC 21.If my dates are current again and if i get any RFE I will submit the offer letter from my old employer.
My case is I'm using EAD after 140 is approved and 485 is pending more than 180 days and joining a new employer.As GC is future employment I can always say that I will join my old employer when ever i get a GC.This way I can avoid AC 21. Also If my employer doesn't give me the offer letter I can still manage to get it from any Consulting firm with same job title and same salary.
Can any one suggest me on this?
