Hi, I have a rather unique case. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Below are my details:
While on OPT, I accepted an offer from a company in January. They agreed to sponsor me.
My H1B was processed with premium processing fee.
H1B approved on 04/20/2008. (But it will be effective n October 1st)
I was laid-off on 04/23/2008 (But will receive payment till 04/25/2008)
Am i out of status?
(Technically I was working on OPT; did that change once my application was approved?)
Am i still eligible for employment? (I have my OPT till 06/22)
Can another company apply for another H1B petition for me OPT expires?
(will expire on 06/22/2008) How long do I have to find another employer?

regarding ur post, there is a correction.
holding an Approval notice alone is NOT a valid reason to bypass the transit visa in germany.
holding a valid visa or Adv parole is good . but not just an appr notice.

The company should really have changed your husband to H-1B before the end of his 6th year in L-1 status. You count L-1 and H-1B time together to get a maximum of 6 years H-1B. Since he has almost used 6 years, and the cap has been reached for h-1Bs, he cannot change now. If the permanent residence (PR) process had been filed before the end of his 5th year, and he had changed to H-1B, he could get 7th+ year H-1B extensions while the PR process was ongoing. Unfortunately, there are no such extensions for L-1 holders, so that once they reach the end of their maximum stay, they must leave.
The company could file for your husband's PR while he is outside the US, and this is worth discussing.

Yes the salary requirement is ok since i have greater than 60k anyway, what are other requirements as in our company 50% people are on h1b. Is having 50% as h1b with less than 20 employees is a problem now a days from extension point of view.

I have quickly checkced with few other folks and they said it is not possible. They could be sent back if they have a retunr ticket more than 180 days.

I was with with Company A and my H1B approval notice was until 2011 and my wife H4 approval notice was also until 2011.
Recently I changed to Company B, where this company applied only H1B transfer and received a receipt number for that and it is in pending status. And they are saying H4 transfer also applied at the same time but we didn't received the receipt notice yet.
In this H1B transfer process I got query on that petition, now Company B is saying I will not submit any documents for above query.
I have an EAD when I was with Company A and it is still valid. I am planning to move onto EAD.....
Can my wife change her status to F1 (Student) even her H4 transfer receipt is not available?
And the old H4 approval notice is still in approved status when I check in USCIS website.
Please help me in this situation, let me know all your opinion about this case.

Anyway, I'm not very good with Photoshop (I own Photoshop CS2), but I usually use Corel Paint Shop Pro X. But lately I've been using Picasa2.

I need to learn Photoshop (badly). I just hadn't had time.

Words in CIR are supporting high skilled. At the same time Schumer mentioned that they will not allow companies to replace Americans with lower wage foreign workers. You can easily get the meaning of it. First CIR need to be introduced. And it needs to seen What CIR will offer for high skilled immigrants. Many lobbying groups waiting with laundry list of demands for them. Basically every group wants unlimited guest workers and green cards. Someone in congress has to take leadeship initiatives without politics and without any bias. Then only CIR is feasible

Great shot. I like the second one with the red accent a little better. As far as spending money for studio equipment, take a look at Alien Bees studio lights. If you have MS Office Document Image Writer installed in your system then after editing ur PDF, you can print it to MDI and it will save it as an .mdi format. You can take a print out of it later at your convenience. Only issue is, it saves it as an image and you cannot edit an .mdi doc :o

One of my friend is trying to recruit SAP guy in FL but he is not able to get GC guy due to pay. His company is not able to pay more than 110K.
