RNC Bows to Bush, Kills Immigration Resolution
By John Gizzi

. . .
Given the growing chasm between the Administration and GOP grass-roots activists on the issue of illegal immigration, the Pullen measure could well have paved the way for the most incendiary debate at an RNC meeting since the partys ruling members eight years ago voted down a measure to deny funding to candidates opposed to a ban on partial birth abortion.

Similarly, every call for immigration reform is answered with lusty shouts of racism by the self-styled champions of immigrant rights.
You want to start protecting our borders? Youre a racist. You think illegal aliens are responsible for a disproportionate share of crime, disease, poverty and social disintegration? Youre a racist. You believe America has a national language, and it isnt Spanish? Youre a xenophobic, hate-monger (even if youre an immigrant or the grandchild of immigrants).

Illegal immigration is a hot-button issue these days, and calls for a border fence spark fierce support among some segments of society.
That support is misplaced; undocumented workers who risk death to cross the border will not be deterred by a wall.

The House's approval of the Sensenbrenner immigration reform bill in mid-December was a clear signal that the most virulent restrictionists were in control of the immigration policy debate.
Sponsored by Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-WI), chair of the House Judiciary Committee, the Border Protection, Anti-Terrorism, and Illegal Control Act calls for the extension of a fence along a third of the 2,000 mile U.S.-Mexico border, involves local law enforcement and other government officials in immigration enforcement, and denies due-process of law for immigrants. The bill sparked a spate of international criticism of rising anti-immigrant sentiment in the United States , and raised alarm among immigrant communities and their advocates.

USCIS: RUMORS OF EARLY VISA RETROGRESSION
Late Wednesday, rumors emerged that the USCIS may attempt to retrogress the July immigrant visa numbers early in July and reject I- 485 (adjustment of status) applications filed early in the month. USCIS has taken such action already with respect to the other worker visa category involving non-professional workers.
Visa availability is based on the U.S. Department of State Visa Bulletin, which is published monthly, not on a rolling basis. If USCIS cuts off visa numbers in mid-month, this would be a clear violation of Federal law and agency policy. If the USCIS were to take this arbitrary action, it would cause significant problems for applicants and employers alike.
If USCIS cuts off applications on a certain date in early July, this will most likely occur without advance warning. In that case, not all applications will be accepted for processing. Be aware that that USCIS will reject an application unless it contains certain minimum supporting documents. For I-485 applications, minimum documents include a completed medical examination and birth certificates (or secondary evidence of birth, which must meet specific USCIS requirements). Applications for dependent spouses must include a marriage certificate. We strongly recommend that I-485 applicants obtain these and other requested documents as soon as possible. Until further notice, please do not plan to travel internationally during the month of July.
We will work as hard and as diligently as possible to get I-485 applications filed quickly. This will require active cooperation by all applicants to obtain needed documents. Again, please understand that the proposed USCIS action is just rumor at this point, but if the USCIS takes such action, it will likely be without warning. Further, it is possible that there could be retroactive rejections of applications once filed. Unfortunately, this is all we know at this time. We do not know when and if any such actions will occur; we will also not know immediately which, if any, cases are rejected once they have been submitted.
The attorneys at XXXXX are shocked and disappointed that the government could take such ill-thought and arbitrary steps and we will work to fight any illegal action by the USCIS. We are continuing to monitor the USCIS actions and will provide updates as they become available
I heard similar story from my lawyer. I am not trying to scare anyone just posting what I heard, he is also a very reputed lawyer.
We may not get anything by lawsuit or by taking some action, but we should not just sit there and let them play with us. It is not about anger but it is about self respect.

I came across a couple who got their H1B approvals last yr with in 3 weeks to each other. One of them was in PIMS and other one not. So I feel approval date does not seem to be a criteria to base these delays upon.

Dude are you kidding me ... I am reporting a violation/fraud and I should hold my head down?? what kind of moral/ethical values you have.. I am keeping my head up (may be an inch or 2 higher than last 3 weeks) as my project manager and director (middle management ) fully supports me in this crusade. Most of the cases, upper management decides to replace all the local contractors with these outsourcing firms and once the contract is signed these companies dump all their L1 resources to projects and middle management who deals directly with the resources has minimal say in the process.
Let me ask you a simple question.. WHY ARE YOU SUPPORTING THIS FRAUDULANT ACTIVITY??? .... think for a minute and then decide whether to reply me back or not.. bye.
'Mileage for this complaint'.. in an economy when millions with eligibility are job less .. case regarding this fraud will have ZERO mileage! want to bet me on this .. come on dude.. come on. If you are on L1 visa talk to uer management and get it changed to something legally eligible to work on your project, instead trying to measure the mileage of L1 fraud, ICE/USCIS will measure that and we'll see whos head is going down here...
I am neither supporting you, nor am I supporting TCS/WIPRO. But I am seeing things from your client's perspective. Your client and director who ever they are , they might be saying one thing on the face and getting ready to save their company in the background. You know corporate world is a nasty place. Every recruiter who talks to you makes you feel as if he is the hiring manager and you have got the job, but does it happen that way? No. Similarly, your client is buying time and soothing you, I am not sure they are sincere about their comments. Everyone has some motive or personal interest in supporting things.
And to be honest, I doubt if you can come clean , hold your head high and say in public, I did it. If you do so , I will respect you as a whistleblower. Other wise, you are just mad that your are losing the job to others. If they cant get l1 on site, they will send the job offshore. There is not much you can do. Your client is towing your line until a smooth transition and then they are done with you , anyways. Its better you read writing on the wall and move on. You can invest the same time in finding other work and still have good relations with the current client. You never know when economy gets good, they may want you back at a higher price. But if they get to know you are doing this, most likely you will end up on some blacklist and I am not trying to scare you but world is a small place and you will run into same people many times.
My moral ethical values here are, someone doesnt want to work with me for some reason, whether they are doing their business with others ethically or unethically or illegally is upto them. I am moving on without a bad taste in mouth or complaint. It is company's choice whether they want to pay me or someone else. If they want to send my job offshore, they dont want to work with me for whatever reason, so I got to move on without complaint, thats my ethical value. whether others are doing it ethically or unethically is not my problem. You can choose to fight this, but your victory will only be temporary, say 6 months.

Go f*** yourself with nonsense about logic. Wasn't it your compatriot from India who started writing nonsense about americans here.
This is precisely the problem with Indian mentality that average americans interacted with americans complain about. Unfortunately IDIOTIC indians such as yourself think for some reason you have a monopoly on logic, when you are the one who involve in emotional arguing as can be evidenced in this thread. Read the last 1 page
dude you trying to prove a point. if you get distracted your argument is lost. name calling "fuck you", "idiot", "morons" do not even tingle me. may as well write an auto slang generator.

This is useful for those who want to send their packet using private service providers such as FedEx.

I think this what uscis says
NOTE: If using overnight delivery by any private service provider, send your package to:

First of all when it is visa information it is just that!
Please see answers below
Hi Friends,
I am in the process of filling I-485 form and got the following question, can you please help?
My stamped visa expired 1 year back and I am currently with H1B approval notice. In the 2nd page of I-485 form, under Part 3. Processing Information, I am wondering what I need to fill for the following columns.
1. Nonimmigrant visa number: Is this the EAC number of my current I797 or the visa number from my expired visa?. If it is from the expired visa, there are multiple numbers in the visa stamp, which one is the visa number?
------> The figures in red, not the control number on your
visa stamp.
2.Consulate where visa was issued: Is it the name of the consulate issued my last visa or Department?
------> If it was issued at a consulate state that, if
department mention department.
3.Date visa isssued: Is this is the date of last visa issued or the approval date of my current I797
-----> Again the one on your visa stamp.
Thanks advance for all your valuable suggestions.

All,
Its good to see some of the Very active members of s-1932 again in this site.
This site looks very good, I followed the S1932 thread in immigration.com very closely, but was disappointed after its defeat inspite all the guys aggressive enthu and hardwork. As most people i too feel that we failed because of lack of Lobbying. If everyone can contribute for noble cause that will be great. I have a small suggestion I am not sure whether it sounds right to everyone or not, but in order to start collecting the funds i would suggest that Moderator open a new thread/link about the contributions so that members who are joining eveyday in this forum will get the momentum to contribute. It would be good if it has name(Registered name), amount and date and the sum collected so far. This is just my suggestion if it sounds illogic please disregard.
Thanks
gc_maine,
Your suggestions are welcome. We have also received requests wherein people don't want their contributions disclosed. Anyway since this is a voluntary donation, we will post some kind of overall numbers in terms of collections versus target which should help.
Hope that helps the premise of your suggestion
