Hi All,
My friend whose PD is Dec 30 2004 - EB2 - Texas got his approval email. But he is already in india and travelling back this Oct 12th.
He already has valid Advanced Parole with him.
He wants to if there are any issues for him to enter at port of entry?
Any documents or print out of approval etc to be carried with him?
Does he needs to tell the office that his GC got approved?
Please help.

My point is not everyone wud then leave Vonage and move to another service , thats how Vonage wud gain, again are u sure u read the complete fine print :P
If they change the "contract" you agreed to initially - then you have every right to get out of the contract without any termination fees. It may take some arguing with the CS - but I know some people who have done this successfully with telephone companies like Verizone/Sprint etc when they changed some inconsequencial T&C.

Yes but on Monday morning it is NOT going to be current appantly. So, technically you did not send documents ( if you are getting it out on MONDAY) when they were current.
Just imagine, overnight bulletin was revised, what should we do? They did change it,if you know what I mean?
Guys this is a revision to the July Visa Bulletin. Meaning, even if the revision happens on July 29th to the July Visa Bulletin, it holds good for entire july.
This is not August bulletin.
Looks like people have misconception, that if their file goes to USCIS on July 2nd and visa bulletin is revised on July 3rd or later date, then they are safe. It is not so.
If at all if there is a change to the August bulletin it holds good for August and not to July bulletin.
Pls let me know if my understanding is wrong

I have send emails to my credit card company and the people who processed the payment and none of them have been able to help me.
You should just fill a dispute form and send it to your credit card issuer. It's probably not too late. The bank can and should refund you the overpay.

Please refer the url, one of the iv member has stated his friends denial case.
http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=21716&page=21
From IV: IV commends the initiative taken by it's members nk2006, pd_recpaturing, ItsNotfunny and others. As these members have observed, we all know that any one who has filed for AOS/I-485 can potentially be hit with this issue, especially in the current job market situations. If you believe in the old adage prevention is better than cure, this is an action item you have to subscribe to. It will be only a matter of time the number of such denials is going to spike.
In recent weeks there has been a spate of I485 denials by USCIS in the AC21 cases. In most of these cases, the underlying I-140 has been revoked by previous employer. But AC21 regulations and related memos require that I485s should not be denied based on that provided I485 has been pending for more than 180 days and the applicant has changed to a new job that is same or similar. USCIS has been rejecting cases without even issuing a NOID again required by AC21 regulations. So USCIS is not following AC21 regulations and related field memos for whatever the reasons.
Obviously this will have a very bad impact on us in addition to tremendous amount of stress it can have very bad economic implications including loss of job. In the current economic conditions we cannot afford to lose the job change flexibility provided by AC21 regulations. IV has started a campaign to fight this.
After a brief campaign to write to Ombudsman, it has been decided to intensify this campaign and write to various officials in USCIS hierarchy. IV core members have been actively involved in coming up with a strategy and are actively supporting this effort. By sending large number of letters we can draw their attention to this issue and resolve as quickly as possible. There are other strategies that are being discussed and will be underway soon to tackle this issue. This is the first and the most important step up on which other steps depend.
I request all the members to start sending the following 4 letters. For your convenience the letters have been completely written including addresses to be sent all you have to do is download following 4 google documents add the date, your name and address and send it to the address provided on each letter.

Hey J(erk) Thomas,
Shove your condescending advise to where the sun never shines. It is NONE of your BUSINESS to tell me or anyone what they should be doing. No wonder average americans have started hating people like you and want to drive you out of the country.
If you think that you can fool everyone all the time, you are sadly mistaken. Even by DOL estimates, there is 20% fraud with H1. The real figure could be a lot higher than that
I am not the only one expressing these opinions in this forum, as I can see, "TN Man" has suggested pretty much the same here. There is no point in trying to close your eyes to reality.
Senator Grassley and Durbin wants Google and Yahoo to succeed in US. But they don't want Indian cyber-koolies like the body shops and TCS/INFY/Wipro to steal american jobs under the guise of globalization.
For all the geniuses out here, how many companies like Google or Microsoft or yahoo came out of India in the last 20 years? Yeah, that is what I thought too.. BIG ZERO. But if you read J(erk) Thomas' response, one would have thought that India is full of competitors for Microsoft and Google today :D :D :D
Hey Hunter, so do you think India should buy from Boeing, Pepsi, Coke and even Ford? Should Indians be driving coolie cars made by ford? No wonder India would want to place a larger order with Airbus in return. And Dont you remember that during bankruptcy of airlines, Indian routes were their lifeblood and european routes were bleeding. So should we force to cancel a few more flights to India by these airlines?

Multiple-Year Single EAD-AP Card Reportedly Limited to Visa Regrogression 485 Filers
Some more details have been released on Mr. Aytes' statement on this plan. Reportedly, such multiple year card may be issued only to those who suffer the visa number retrogression. In other words, those 485 filers who will experience delays in 485 applications who do not suffer from the visa number retrogression but from the USCIS delays including namechecks are not likely to benefit from the upcoming multi-year card issuance.

Finally, received my passport on the 3rd Jan, 08. Good luck everybody.:)
Hi All,
I am on a business trip to Chennai and I was interviewed for my H1-B renewal on Dec 6th 2007, unaware of the PIMS as it was not mentioned anywhere on the website that it will take this long to receive the passport. I was granted my visa within few minutes but till date (Jan 1st, 08) I have not received my passport. Was interviewed at the Chennai consulate. It has been heights of frustration as I had to spend all my Christmas holidays and New years at Chennai with all my fly being in US. I was supposed to return to US on Dec19th had to postpone my tickets to Dec 24th and then to Dec 29th. Now finally I have cancelled my tickets as it was costing me $200 every time I modify my itinerary. The US consulate, Chennai keeps on extending the processing time from 3 to 7 to 10 and it has been 15 working days already now, but still no passport in hand. Last week on Friday (Dec 28th) got an email that it might take additional 7 working days, huh ! Good thing is my company is in Chennai so atleast I can go to work or else it would have been really painful.
Was anybody else interviewed at Chennai during that black week ??? with similar situation ?
Good luck everybody.

By Mr. Cannon:
"NNCPS is partnering with other Agencies to provide contractors and personnel to process name checks. For example, the FBI and USCIS have implemented a key initiative to use contractor resources to prioritize the processing of "Single-Hit" USClS Name Check requests, that is, pending name check requests that have only one FBI file potentially identified with it that needs to be reviewed in order to process the request. By applying contractor resources to process these "Single Hit" requests, the FBI may significantly reduce the pending USClS name check workload."
Are they interested in national security or just numbers of processed name checks? Why not create a special team to handle requests with the high number of "hits" as those are much more dangerous potentially for the national security?
When did he make the statement ?
Also, how to find out whether the case had 1 hit or multiple hits ( and how many ).

USCIS: RUMORS OF EARLY VISA RETROGRESSION
Late Wednesday, rumors emerged that the USCIS may attempt to retrogress the July immigrant visa numbers early in July and reject I- 485 (adjustment of status) applications filed early in the month. USCIS has taken such action already with respect to the other worker visa category involving non-professional workers.
Visa availability is based on the U.S. Department of State Visa Bulletin, which is published monthly, not on a rolling basis. If USCIS cuts off visa numbers in mid-month, this would be a clear violation of Federal law and agency policy. If the USCIS were to take this arbitrary action, it would cause significant problems for applicants and employers alike.
If USCIS cuts off applications on a certain date in early July, this will most likely occur without advance warning. In that case, not all applications will be accepted for processing. Be aware that that USCIS will reject an application unless it contains certain minimum supporting documents. For I-485 applications, minimum documents include a completed medical examination and birth certificates (or secondary evidence of birth, which must meet specific USCIS requirements). Applications for dependent spouses must include a marriage certificate. We strongly recommend that I-485 applicants obtain these and other requested documents as soon as possible. Until further notice, please do not plan to travel internationally during the month of July.
We will work as hard and as diligently as possible to get I-485 applications filed quickly. This will require active cooperation by all applicants to obtain needed documents. Again, please understand that the proposed USCIS action is just rumor at this point, but if the USCIS takes such action, it will likely be without warning. Further, it is possible that there could be retroactive rejections of applications once filed. Unfortunately, this is all we know at this time. We do not know when and if any such actions will occur; we will also not know immediately which, if any, cases are rejected once they have been submitted.
The attorneys at XXXXX are shocked and disappointed that the government could take such ill-thought and arbitrary steps and we will work to fight any illegal action by the USCIS. We are continuing to monitor the USCIS actions and will provide updates as they become available
I heard similar story from my lawyer. I am not trying to scare anyone just posting what I heard, he is also a very reputed lawyer.
We may not get anything by lawsuit or by taking some action, but we should not just sit there and let them play with us. It is not about anger but it is about self respect.

Mine is at TSC. PD: July 04. RD: Aug 17, 2007. ND: Oct 15, 2007. What is your RD and ND?
I have a feeling that the IO might look at the applications received on Aug 17, 2007, only at last. Its because, when I went for infopass, the IO said that, "You have filed on the last date, so you will have to wait".
Anyhow, I have tried all that I could, and now I leave it to the Almighty.

dude you are yet to show data to correlate students graduating correlating with H1 visa numbers. You say that Ms/Yahoo/Goog have no peers in India yet refuse to acknowledge these guys stand on visa status. You claim you have not found any indian with good maths skills but you can not explain the professors in top universities nor can you explain the number of phds there.

"The Computing Research Association's annual Taulbee Survey of 192 U.S. universities with doctoral programs found that total enrollment by majors and pre-majors in computer science increased 6.2% last year. If only declared majors are considered, the figure jumps to an 8.1% increase, the first boost in computer science majors in six years. "
Are you happy now? Since H1-B quota is reduced, more students are considering computer science as a viable option. If H1-B is limited only for genuine requirements by american companies for the best and brightest and not used as displacing american companies by indian crooks from TCS/INFY etc., even more americans will go for those degrees.
Are you satisfied? Now get lost!!
No I would not attribute you as representative of us culture as i meet much better people in life everyday. you obviously think that your three trips to india gave you deep understanding of indian culture which is like saying you understood quantum theory in 1 min. you obviously are talking out of your ass. and if u think "arsha-bharata" makes any sense to vast majority here you are talking out of your ass.
Go f*** urself. It was your fellow country-men (a jerk desparately trying to immigrate to US) who was making nonsense incest allegations first in this forum about americans. Do you get it,IDIOT, before lecturing me?
I don't give a damn what your epics say or what you practice in India. All I pointed out was teh corruption in India pointed out by international agencies compared to western democracies.
