I read in one the post here at Immigrationvoice.com
a person travelled on AP and he got I94 longer than current AP expiry date . And he asked officer can he use current AP before I 94 expire. And he got answer Yes.
But I am not sure whether it is true or not alway check with Attorny for the same.
On other post, is it required to have paystubs while travelling?
I have my last pay stub was July 20th 09 and planning to go on vacation on Aug 20 and coming back in Sep th. What I'm missing is immediate pay stubs, is it required to have same?

Hi All,
I have been following the postings on this forum. I appreciate all the hard work the core group is doing. I also appreciate the active participation by all members in answering/discussing the forum topics.
I have contributed a one time $200.00 in support and would contribute more and request every one to support in there capacity.
Every one needs PR status, but in my case, the need is more for my wife, because of the reason that she wants to pursue her medical residency here.
I sometimes wonder and sometimes I feel like going back to India, work for my present company for 1 year, come back here on a managerial/executive position on L1 along with my wife and apply for Perm in Eb1 cat...this said is all my thought!
This would enable my wife to get work permit as L1 dependent and an eventually a residency position in a good univ and a current 1-485 status.
Only thing though is my wife would need to attend interviews.
Any suggestions/feedback will help me and all other people in this situation.

Medical institutions will apply for a H1 for her. Dont waste any time. She can start applying ofr residency as soon as she completes her USMLE part 2 and then start preparing for part3 good luck!

You should probably call USCIS to see what is going on ?
Reciept Notices should be sent immideatly as soon as they recieve the application. If it has been that long, I would recommend calling them and see what the hell is going on.
I did not get my reciept notices too. Luckily, I had the reciept numbers from the back of my checks. I called and found out that they were sent to the wrong address. I immideatly corrected my address online.

Immigration in United States is a soveriegn issue of this country and foriegn governments cannot do anything about it. In fact, it would be offensive for Indian Govt to advice US congress to do something regarding immigration.
Kamalnath, India's commerce minister tried to meddle in British Parliament when they changed visa rules for Indian Doctors. The British Parliament warned him and asked him to BACK OFF.
Immigration is not a trade issue. There is not deal between 2 nations on immigration. We are not talking about crude oil or soybeans trading.
Please end this discussion here. It looks really naive of us to even think like this.

I have my receipt number. And I am trying to get a hod of my case folder from th company lawyer.
"As such you do not need H1 due to new rule on OPT, however; you need to check if the H1 was applied for change of status? If it is a change of status application, you need to probably inform USCIS that you will not be changing status to H1."
Is there any way I can check if th H1 was applied for change of status without information from the company lawyer?

Could you let me know if "recession and the lack of jobs in US" would be a good enough reason to delay the stamping ? Apparently the job offer on which the visa was applied in 2007 dried out in 2008 and can that be stated or would the embassy question if the job offer was not a stable one , why did one apply for the visa ?
Also could you let me know what is an amended petition with new start date and new salary offer.Would this be the same as a new petition or would this be faster and cheaper than a new petition.Pls let me know

Frist's enforcement only bill will be very popular in the house, but is unlikely to pass the senate. There seems to be quite a few republican senators (Specter, Mccain, Graham, Brownback to name a few) who might vote against any bill which is not "comprehensive". They along with the dems easily have more than 50 votes to block. Now, even if Frist's passes senate, it has to be reconciled with the house version - there are plenty of vocal anti EB folks there and hardly anyone pro. So if push comes to shove, Frist would probably agree to drop the EB provisions and pass rest of the bill , so that he can take credit and hit the '08 presidential campaign trail.
Specter's will easily pass the senate, will be a miracle if it passes the house - senate conference commitee in its present form. The only hope is all the attention will be on the amnesty provisions and negotiations surrounding that, and the EB part of it will fly under the radar.

I believe August 17th was mentioned in his/her post because that is the last day USCIS will accept employment based applications as per the revised July visa bulletin. It does not have anything to do with a date on the check.

I am in Philadelphia so i would assume Vermont center. Is that a fair assumption, coz i have a previous I-140 and to the best of my knowledge it had gone to the Vermont center back then.
However back in the day there was no premium processing for I-140 so things may have changed :(
Has anyone in the North east USA recently received any approvals from the Vermont center?

u should just do a walk in and see. i did a walk in with my wife and the guard did not even look for the date. just walk in and see what happens.. dont say u r there to prepone...if they see the date at that time..request/beg them based on ur circumstances.

I would say avoid London totally unless you have to collect any euro lottery money enroute to India. Just kidding. Why travel thru the counties that have so many restrictions?
