There is nothing wrong in asking but the attorney has no right to reveal the information to you although some do. Did you try to make that request through your employer?
I think some members requested a copy of 140 approval notice from USCIS by filing a freedom of information request. Not sure how though.

I got the e-mail that card prodn. is ordered. Not sure if i'll get one year or 2 years EAD renewal now. I filed in Nebraska center. I called USCIS and asked them but they are not sure either.. I hate to miss out of 2 yr EAD just 'cos it got approved today but not Monday. Is there any way to appeal for a 2 yr EAD ????
I think it is 2 years for approvals that occur after June 30th. Which means yours might be a 1 year deal

Found that someone with Aug 2002 PD got approved on June 1 whose I485 Receipt date was May 2003.
I guess USCIS does not go by PD to select who should be adjucated first but by what date the I485 was received. They are really ingenious and creative in finding ways to be inefficient and unjust.
Oh well....
IV is the only place that is doing a lot to change.

Well this is always going to be there,FIFO is not guaranteed during adjustement of status.It is quite possible someone who has filed later and has a PD which is later is likely to be approved because this depends on various factors i.e case to case basis,FBI name check ,security clearance,immigration officer who is adjucating your case etc.
But the good news for you is that your case has now has a available Visa Number and if your application is in order (as per the Immigration Officer)
then u will get an approval.
In other words your chances of your case /PD being retrogressed are highly unlikely.

it doesn't boil down to who you trust more. Both opinions have its merits.
But you should base your decision on whether or not you have truly ported to a job with similar duties and if you have the paperwork to prove it. If you have all this, then evn if you do get RFE its not a bad thing, since you can prove that you did no wrong.
Just my 2 cents.

I am filing for my EAD renewal and had a quick question...I have an EAD card from when I was in college and did my OPT. The problem though is that I do not have some of the details that they ask for while filing EAD renewal, such as what Center was it processed at & what was the application date.
I have already called USCIS & they cant pull up what center my EAD was filed at or the date it was filed. Can anyone suggest what I should do in this situation? What do I put in the form? Does anyone have similar experiences?

H-1 option exists no doubt. But the number of places one can apply and the concomitant increase in the chances of getting a residency increases with the option of EAD!

I don't know why they keep whining about bringing more H1s when they cannot provide for the ones already here? Even a layman would agree that more H1s without corresponding legislations to fix broken GC system would add fuel to the fire.

I hope USCIS comes with premium processing of EAD. Or they should come with i-485 premium processing so that AP and EAD can be issued withing 15 days or something.
That way they can make some money over this flood of applications and I am sure many of us want EAD badly for our spouse because they have job secured.

Even my co-workers (including me) have not received their returned applications. I have a question here:
The Cover letter of my 485 petition was signed by MY EMPLOYER on the company's letterhead. Just in case, just in case, INS decides to return that application - will it be sent to my employer's address or to my residential address??
There was no attorney involved and it was not a concurrent filing with I-140.
Appreciate your reply.

I doubt we can threaten to get sanctions passed on Exceed .. i dont think we have the political clout for that. All we can do for now is plead, reason and educate senators of the unfair treatment we get from the broken immigration system. If our membership keeps growing to a point where we represent most of the affected legal immigrants at the mercy of USCIS (close to half a million), then its a different story, not to mention if we had the numbers and political clout of the illegals. Just my opinion.
You see to carry out negative publicity of Exceed corporation we donot need to represent the whole immigrant group...We are publicizing well known facts and create headache for Exceed...so that they speed the work up...The only incentive they can have at this point is possibility of more work...And that is where our points would really get across..We donot even have to go talk to any senators...The implicit danger of negative publicity for Exceed is our weapon..!!!!
