Here is what I can advise
1) Get all the supporting documentation that you have for both cases. Example tickets/ citations, fine receipts, any other docs related to the case you can find. make sure you make photo copies of all documents
2) Get a court dispositon documents for both cases to prove that the cases are closed and fine was paid
3) Make sure you run all these documents past your immigration attorney to ensure nothing is missing. Also get in touch with your lawyers that handled the DUI & other case to see if they can help you with paperwork
4) If you are not comfortable defending you case you can take an attorney with you. That is entirely optional thing.
5) No one on this forum or immigration officer has any moral right to tell you what you did was good or bad. Its the job of courts and they have already made you pay fine. So as long as you can furnish all relevant papers that these cases are closed you are fine with your immigration process.

While your I-140 is in MTR process, you can switch to another job on h1b and start PERM process and then I-140 immediately. Since your 6 years on h1b are up, make sure the new process qualifies you for further h1b extensions(beyond 6 years) based on 365 day rule.
My guess is, if your I-140 gets denied, your h1b with 3 years of validity is not going to be valid any longer. Because you got that extension based on your previous labor and I-140. You have to jump to new GC process as soon as possible.
Also, talk to your lawyer. Hold my opinion as mere opinion.

EB2 gets unused EB1 quota. So potentially more GC numbers under EB2. Now I am not sure if EB1 is fully utilized or not so it might not really matter.

I am not sure if every state allows this but I know this is true for California. There are different reasons for taking this leave. If you had a baby - For a mother, it is 12 weeks, partially paid by the state and for a father it is 6 weeks partially paid by the state.
If you have worked with your employer for atleast a year, you can also avail FMLA leave for 12 weeks (unpaid) without any issue. All the employers with 50 employess or more are supposed to follow this law.

My two cents are that you should attach your receipt notice for I-485 and approved I-140 along with your spouse's application right now instead of waiting for his/her receipt notice. BTW, this is based on an opinion of attorney I consulted.
I don't think that your spouse's I-140 has to do anything with interfiling. You application will be interlinked to your spouse's application based on I485. Also, since you are just interfiling, you both will remain primary on your respective applications with no derivatives. You won't become a derivative just by interfiling. Thats the benefit of filing separately so that who so ever has the PD current first, the spouse benefits from it even though his/her PD is not current.
I don't understand why your attorney is recommending to interfile when you have an option to let USCIS know right away where to put your spouse' I-485 file. I recommend you to take a second opinion if you have a doubt.

Search IV for an awesome thread by DhunDhun regarding EAD/AP renewal. It has everything.
I'm on H1B and my family members are on H4. I'm still working on H1B and never used EAD/AP.
I would like to renew my EAD/AP which has expired in Oct'08.
My lawyer is charging huge fees and it is turning out to be very expensive to renew EAD and AP for all my family members.
Have anyone renewed EAD and AP after such a long gap of expiry? Will e-filing
help or paper filing is efficient? Any experiences from forum members regarding
this will be appreciated.

Congress is set to debate CIR in May. HLG thinks that there is a reasonable chance that one house of Congress passes CIR in the May/June timeframe. And that the other house of Congress passes another CIR in June/July. With some negotiation, a compromise CIR bill could be on the president�s desk by the middle of the summer � say July.
In addition, we are also actively courting the bridge legislation that we�ve mentioned many times. HLG was privy to a meeting that took place just this week with a senior staffer in an important Senator�s office. The challenge here is to find the right must-pass legislation that can serve as a host.
Putting this all together HLG is slightly raising our latest estimate. We�re willing to print that there is a 60% chance that either CIR or Bridge legislation is passed and signed by the President by August 1. Whenever a bill is passed it will likley take an additional 30-60 days before the first visas are issued.

i'm in dfw, have written to cornyn and kay bailey (congresswoman) several times.
cornyn is part of the reason cir failed, he represents the very conservative republicans first (and came up with hundreds of amendments to cause a kinda of filibuster) and foremost and skil and other bills come second. skil failed again when it was brought up recently in the senate... so cornyn is pro legal immigration overall - might help with procedural issues, but i don't expect too much from him because he comes from a very conservative state.

Nothing to worry - Receipt Notice(s) will be issued when they will be issued. We can do nothing about it. I'm in the same boat - My application was mailed on Jul 24th and received on Jul 25th. No news so far - My Lawyer says, we should wait another month or so...

Several people i know got RFE during H1 transfer and few got denied . At the same time many got approved.
Mines also got denied even though i a have a project and with big company.
But if you are over 180 days you can take a chance. It is better that getting less salary. You can transfer on premium and switch company after it gets approved.
On the side note: dont transfer your h1 to a company starting with cognXXXXX and ending with "solutions". their immigration department sucks and several of their transfers are having issue.

i didn't want to do the newby thing and ask 'oh! how is it done?' so i went away and tried to do it myself (ha!)
i tried masking the text and having all sort of thing tweening in underneath, but i can't get the rays to beam out like that
just one question: is it done in actionscript?
