This bill is only for FB. IV has to give some direction on this bill so that we can push to include EB too in the bill.
(b) Worldwide Level of Employment-Based Immigrants- Section 201(d) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1151(d)) is amended to read as follows:
`(d) Worldwide Level of Employment-Based Immigrants-
`(1) IN GENERAL- The worldwide level of employment-based immigrants under this subsection for a fiscal year is equal to the sum of--
`(A) 140,000;
`(B) the number computed under paragraph (2); and
`(C) the number computed under paragraph (3).
`(2) UNUSED VISA NUMBERS FROM PREVIOUS FISCAL YEAR- The number computed under this paragraph for a fiscal year is the difference, if any, between--
`(A) the worldwide level of employment-based immigrant visas established for the previous fiscal year; and
`(B) the number of visas issued under section 203(b), subject to this subsection, during the previous fiscal year.
`(3) UNUSED VISA NUMBERS FROM FISCAL YEARS 1992 THROUGH 2007- The number computed under this paragraph is the difference, if any, between--
`(A) the difference, if any, between--
`(i) the sum of the worldwide levels of employment-based immigrant visas established for each of fiscal years 1992 through 2007; and
`(ii) the number of visas issued under section 203(b), subject to this subsection, during such fiscal years; and

US archaic GC rules just lost a potential great immigrant to Canada.
And I agree that everyone should have a life. I suppose they have one too. They have the right to have their own opinion. Guess what? It might be that they like to hang around other Desis in the same boat that may be the reason why they come here. :D

It takes less than 10 minutes to call ALL of these offices. I just finished calling everyone and did not have to leave any voicemail. They took the message and told me that they will pass on the message.

The company I work in is a medium sized business organization. My boss is a staunch republican. I hope to make him aware of these 2 bills and request him to write to the locol congressman and the senator. If we can all do the same then we can buil substantial momentum towards getting these 2 bills passed. Since most of the businesses have republican leanings and at some time have contributed towards the GOP in some way, their endorsements can have a major impact.
I have written to my local HOuse rep; no response from him.
I agree with Alabaman. We need to coordinate and do something. Waiting and watching will get us nowhere.

As I thought about this further, I figured out the data is even worse than I thought earlier, as this may not have any 2007 numbers. People who filed their labors in 2007 were still waiting in july of 2007. So this data is only upto late 2006. Now the figures could be

Joke on Free-money-transfer was even highlighted in a movie. Its open secret as to how they offer free-money-transfer service.
I advise you to close ICICI account and open another account with Federal credit unions. Before you do that, ask if you could use their debit cards in India to with draw money from ATM machines. The conversion rate you get via this method matches with the current rate and you would loose nothng. However, you can only withdraw upto 25 thousand rupees per day.
ICICI deliberately delays the money transfer so that they can pick a day with lowest conversaion rate. Again the conversion rate they display on their site is off by almost a rupee from the live conversion rate.
All banks are well protected from laws and you can't do anything about it.

I guess you are talking about premium membership like wsj etc. I am not sure a free exchange of ideas can occur if we put our membership for sale by restricting access to some parts of the website. IV will lose some of its sheen and I am not sure the tradeoff in membership $ is worth it- dunno just doesn't feel right in the gut

I agree with PlainSpeak, it is better to get it evaluated. Also, sorry i did not read your earlier post cleary. Both my friends did a MBA and not a MCA. I know of a collegaue who is in the process of applying under EB2 and she has 3 year MCA degree in addition to her 3 year Bachelors.

USCIS can't cash the checks. A check submitted with AnY application can only be cashed if and when the agency decides that the application can be accepted and processed(initial processing.)

For my situation discussed above, I took an infopass appointmnet at Baltimore and they couldn't offer a concrete answer since the case is pending with TSC. They asked me to reply to RFE asking for extension and provide supporting documents. I'm not sure if that would be accepted and results in denial of I-485.

This clearly says applications already filed will also be accepted. So this means anyone who filed between July 2nd and 17th will not be rejected.
